openthebox processes thousands of updates daily from official sources. As a banker, manually keeping track of all changes would be overwhelming. That’s why openthebox offers a powerful notification feature that alerts you to the changes that matter most.

This is especially useful for relationship management, compliance, KYC monitoring, and risk analysis.

1. Following a Single Company or Person

Want to track updates for a specific client or prospect?

  1. Navigate to the company or person profile in openthebox.

  2. Click the Follow button at the top right.

Once followed, the entity will appear in your Lists as a group. From there, you can:

  • Rename the list (e.g., “Top Clients” or “Q2 Leads”)

  • Customize which types of notifications you receive

Perfect for relationship managers or corporate account teams.

2. Uploading a List of Clients or Prospects

If you already have a list of clients or leads you'd like to monitor or enrich, you can easily upload it:

  1. Go to the Lists section at the top of the platform.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Paste up to 2,000 VAT numbers or 200 names into the input field.

Once uploaded:

  • The list appears as a new entity group

  • You can rename it and adjust notification preferences

You’ll be notified automatically any time an entity in your list publishes new or relevant information.

3. Tracking via Advanced Search

Using the Advanced Search tool to find companies or individuals that match specific criteria?

Examples include:

  • Newly registered companies with turnover > €1M

  • Companies in specific niche industries, using the real activity filter

  • Specific financials found on the balance sheet

Entities found can be saved as a list, and notifications are automatically enabled.

 You’ll be notified when:

  • A new director is appointed at a prospect

  • A company files new financials

  • An executive steps down (potential sign of a sale)

  • Other official publications

4. Find Target Profiles with Filters

Need to identify companies or executives that meet exact financial or operational criteria?

Use Advanced Search to filter by:

  • Turnover, balance sheet, staff size

  • Sector, region, incorporation date

  • Legal publications or financial reports

Essential for KYC teams and commercial bankers.

Best Practices for Banking Professionals

  • Group entities by customer segment (e.g., SMEs, large corporates) for focused monitoring

  • Enable only the notifications relevant to your role

  • Use lists when preparing CRM notes, credit files, or internal reviews

  • Combine with the Spiderweb view to identify indirect control or group relationships
