Search Based on Activities

In openthebox, you can search for companies based on the activities of both the company and its branches.

Open advanced search

You can access advanced search from the Explore menu or from the homepage.

Filter companies based on one or more activities

  • In the left navigation panel, scroll down until you reach the field Enter one or more NACE codes.
  • Select an activity from the drop-down menu, enter a NACE code, or type a keyword.
  • By default, openthebox searches for these activities in both the company and its branches. Uncheck this option if you do not want to include branch activities in your search.

Filter companies based on actual activities

Companies are free to add numerous NACE codes at the time of their registration. These codes often do not accurately reflect the exact activities the company performs. To include the real activities of companies in your search, you can use the activities filter.

This filter uses website data from the respective companies and summarizes it into several keywords. Based on these keywords, you can include companies with specific activities in your search. This ensures that the company genuinely performs the specific activity.

What is a keyword?

For each company, our language model defines approximately two to three key terms (e.g., 'drones'). If we do not detect your keyword, the company will not appear in the search results.

What is an activity?

Find companies based on their real activities, as described on their websites. For example: 'family-run business in agriculture.' Our language model will then search for all possible related search results, based on the accuracy score you choose.
